Diabetes Frontier is a knowledge sharing platform aimed at taking research and medical expertise from the developed world and using it to promote collaboration and advocacy in the developing world. Launched in 2017, following the release of key research showing the alarming rise in diabetes and obesity prevalence in Africa, the platform actively bridges the massive gap between leading global research and the practices on the ground in frontiers threatened most by diabetes.
The platform enables global collaborations which support diversity in standard clinical trials, disease management and innovations in the fight against diabetes. It achieves this by being a melting pot of research, medical, advocacy and policy expertise all aimed at promoting better diabetes management across Africa, the Middle East, Asia and South America.
As a respected organization in the fight against diabetes, Diabetes Frontier was one of the launch platforms for the 8th edition of the International Diabetes Federation's 8th edition of the Diabetes Atlas.
